With victory always comes loss. This past gathering three of my beast-born kin fell and are gone. Mika, Mason, and Ona have all passed. They gave their lives to ensure our continued freedom and way of life.

Ona's story is, perhaps, for Crag to tell and so I leave her tale to him, but she fell as she lived--fiercely and dedicated to freedom, truth, and for us all. She has gone to be with Lunimar.

Mason stood by my side throughout the battle as we took the fight to a kothite in his own home. We walked to the battlefield together, Mason once again part of the Champions of Acadia and he fought tooth, claws, and heart to see the enemy fall. He gave his all in that fight, so much so that his spirit was too weak to survive his ressurection.

Mika Dragonhearte was alone before the grand battle, mulling over his life on a hillock when I found him. He simply stated he wished he could do more--more than just heal and claw at the enemy. He found a way, and used his nature connection to bond with the very urth itself. He sank his spirit into the meteor-infected land, and found the strength to rip apart a kothite circle of power so that we could tear into the alien scum. Here I was expecting the old dog to grant us a vitality, perhaps, but his heart and spirit were much more deadly! Upon return, his efforts left him weak, and he succumbed to a final death.

To attest to their strength, Mika and Mason, although they had perished, found the will power to stay among us long enough to see the death-deal through, and even entered the ebon flame of Koth to do battle with Death (along with select few adventurers). They were victorious, but Ona, Mika, and Mason's spirits had had enough.

They are gone, now. Mason and Mika decided to stay in Koth, and bound their spirits into the urth there. Now, among the mutant-infested lands, along the diseased wasteland sprouts a small grove. Blades of grass now grow where was once barren soil. In time--we all hope--this grove shall grow large and strong, and nature will reclaim what the falling star has wrought. This grove will hereby be known as the Grove of Champions, as Mika wished.

Two of my oldest and closest friends are gone. Two brave and selfless spirts are fodder as we fight for our freedom. I miss them already. As I had said, with victory comes loss. Two good, strong, and true champions gave what they had to a cause in which they belived. The best we can do is never forget their actions, and hope to be more like them. I know I will do both.

I ask that we all remember the passing of Expendable. A brave little ally that despite being censured at the time by the Heart assisted in the attack of the Kothite. He fought bravely and offered help to our efforts. He joined Mika, Mason, and Ona within the flame and unfortunately also in Death.

Because of his efforts and service to the cause we pledged our lives to, the Censure has been lifted by decree of the Light

May he find peace in death that he did not have in life

The fallen all fought with fierce determination and courage. It was an honor to serve along side them. They shall never be forgotten.

May we all find Peace in these times of mourning,

I would take a moment to add to their remembrance. When I walked through the ebon flame, I found myself in the void. While in the void, those who had fallen sacrificed what power they had left in their spirit so that we were able to stop the Wickedness that lingered within. Through their actions, the ebon throne was saved from being usurped. You must all know that only their death and their sacrifice were you allowed to keep your life.

Expendable would have been happy about the censure being lifted.

Expendable was a good and dear friend, and he will be truly missed. I am happy that ironically enough of his name, he was useful and indispensable in the effort to help save the ancient gypsy lands and Urth as well.

I knew Mika and Mason personally and consider them friends, and always valued their council and insights.
Their spirits are truly at peace and their destinies fulfilled as heroes of Urth.

They will all be miss greatly. Mika was one whom I would talk to about how do be strong at these times. He taught me path of spirit and help guide me in my calling. Mason was a good freind always their to help out. Both have save my life more time than I can count. Expendable got me back up when we fighting the Kothite and did what he felt needed to be done for the greater good, I feel. Ona I wish I could have gotten to know better. May us never forget them and what they have done.

It is a sad day indeed when such great adventures fall, however, their deaths are not in vain and their legacy will live on. Each has touched all of those around their selves and is immortal in our spirits for so long as we stand for those things that they most cherished. I raise my flagon to the sky and toast you all once more. And to you my dear friend Expendable, if you can hear me over your lessons, my brother and I have struck a deal with those we saved to create a weapon in your honor. May The Expendable Flame strike fear into the hearts of the corrupt as your honor did!

And for everyone that didn't know. The gnomes provided Expendable with a potion which for a short time allowed him contact with the physical world so that he might help the gnomes with the construction of the portal at Koth and thus fulfill one of his greatest wishes.
